The Immanuel Experience Ensemble is a multimedia expression of music, sight, and sound. It is spoken word, it is drama deeply rooted in the African American, Gospel, Jazz, and World music tradition. The Immanuel Experience Ensemble is the brainchild of Allen McClain, aka Immanuel Zechariah. Releasing their debut album in 2006, “The Immanuel Experience Live,” helped to solidify a lifelong ambition to be a trailblazer in the realm of Spiritual Jazz. In 2010, Immanuel put on a drama featuring The Immanuel Experience Ensemble and the West End Drama Ministry entitled “The Gospel Train.” Immanuel continued to explore the spiritual side of Jazz music with the release of the album “In the Spirit in 2021. The Immanuel Experience Ensemble received a grant in the amount of $15,000 from South Arts, Jazz Roads. This grant enabled them to tour the Hilton Head and St. Helena Islands area bringing an entourage of twenty individuals with them . “Immanuel Prince of Peace,” the group’s latest endeavor, was released on tour in June of this year (2022).
